Under the Nile

With fresh colors and adorable prints, Under the Nile 100% organic cotton clothing can be mixed and matched for easy style. Organic cotton stuffed toys are unique, imaginative and organic, inside and out.

Under the Nile offers an alternative to conventional toys and cotton apparel for infants and children. All Under the Nile organics are made from 100% handpicked Egyptian organic cotton, without the use of pesticides, heavy metal dyes or other toxic chemicals throughout the entire production process.

Under the Nile products reflect the extremely soft and durable features that Egyptian cotton is known for. Under the Nile's dyeing process uses metal-free or vegetable dyes. Accessories such as buttons and zippers are made from eco-friendly elements such as wood, shell or nickel-free metals. All Under the Nile organics, including baby clothes, blankets and toys, are EDI and CPSIA compatible.

Under the Nile toys are perfect if you have a little teether at home. They're fun, interesting shapes that are easy for little hands to hold. They're designed to be hugged, loved and are safe and healthy for little mouths to chew on.

Scrappys are one of Under the Nile's signature collections. Quirky and colorful, they're full of personality and made from scraps of our clothing production. They're quality upcycling at it's best! Zero waste, 100% fun.

Under the Nile stuffed Fruits and Veggies are a customer favorite and best seller. They were designed to help parents start encouraging healthy eating habits from an early age. When children become familiar with their fruits and veggies, they're excited to see them at the table and have fun eating healthy food. This Fruits and Veggies collection is part of the 13 Villages Project. This initiative was created to provide fair and safe work for women in rural villages in Egypt, without having to leave their home. Each of the 13 fruits and veggies are made by women in a different village in Egypt.

Under the Nile is committed to providing the highest quality organic cotton baby products in a sustainable and socially responsible manner. The cotton is grown on a biodynamic farm called Sakem without the use of pesticides or insecticides. Under the Nile was the first baby clothing company in the USA to be certified by The Global Organic Textile Standard and the only baby clothing company in the world to carry the official Gold Seal of Authentic Egyptian Cotton.

Biodynamic agriculture is a method of Organic farming that applies a holistic understanding of life processes. As one of the first sustainable agriculture movements, it treats soil fertility, plant growth, and livestock care as ecologically interrelated tasks emphasizing spiritual and cosmic perspectives. Sekem was founded on these principles of taking a holistic and sustainable approach to organic agriculture and shares our values and commitment to sustainability.

Under the Nile does not use any chemical finishes on our fabrics, only natural starches. Fabric is whitened using an oxygen-based whitening process. Dyes are made with metal-free colors, containing no harmful chemicals such as AZO agents. This translates into softer, cleaner clothing that is more gentle on babies’ skin than conventional cotton. Under the Nile’s clothing is made in Egypt at a Certified Fair Trade Facility.
