The bento box contains three polyethylene lids to help seal food and prevent spills. The bento box containers are microwave safe, but the container lids should NOT be used in the microwave. These polypropylene (#5) containers and polyethylene (#2) lids are non-toxic, non-staining and can withhold mold and mildew. The inner containers are removable and fit neatly into the larger unit.

This product is completely free of phthalates, bisphenol A (BPA), PVC and lead! The sturdy polypropylene bento box containers keep food from squishing while the 100% recycled polypropylene insulated carrying case can preserve temperatures for hours with Biodegradable Non-Toxic Ice Packs (ice packs sold separately). This case has room for a reusable water bottle (sold separately), we recommend the 12 oz. Klean Kanteen.

Care Instructions: Carrying case can be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth.  Containers and lids are dishwasher safe but should only be placed on top rack with NO heat boosters.

What is the difference between Bento Systems/Carriers and Bento Power Lunch Systems/Carriers?  The Bento 2.0 Power Lunch Systems and Carriers are bigger in size than the regular Bento 2.0 Systems and Carriers. The Power Lunch Systems and carriers can accommodate bulkier foods items. The Power Lunch Systems are also intended for work, teens and other adults on the go while the regular bento systems and carriers tend to be designed for children.

What is the difference between Bento Systems, Bento Kits, and Bento Sets? Bento Sets do not come with a carrier, and are simply the Bento Box, containers, utensils, and laptop lunch book. Bento Kits include a set + come with a carrier with an outside pocket capable of holding a drink bottle. Bento Systems have a larger case, come with the Bento Set, and have room on the inside for a reusable water bottle. The systems also have a removable/adjustable shoulder strap. All Laptop Lunch Carriers are made from the same insulated thermal-regulation materials, and have an interior velcro mesh pouch designed to hold Biodegradable Non-Toxic Ice Packs.

What is the difference between Bento 2.0 Carriers and 2.0 Totes? Both Carriers and Totes can be used as standalone products. The Bento 2.0 Carriers are designed to accommodate both a Laptop Lunchbox Set 2.0 and reusable water bottle, whereas the Totes are designed to accommodate a Laptop Lunchbox Set 2.0 only.  Both have handles for carrying, however the carrier has an adjustable/removable shoulder strap that the Tote does not have.
