These Coyuchi organic cotton sheets and bedding are woven with a sateen weave and are silk-like to the touch. Made with 100% certified, fair trade organic cotton, these sheets are free of synthetics and toxic chemicals. Sateen sheets are lustrous on one side and slightly matte on the other side. These organic sheets are wrinkle-resistant due to their twill weave. Their soft feel and drape make them an ideal and sensuous cool climate sheet.
These sateen sheets are made from 100% organic cotton, certified by Control Union Certifiers of the Netherlands, GOTS and ECOCERT of France. These bed linens are also Fair trade certified every step of the way from the cotton seed to the finished product. The fair trade certifications are issued by FLO-CERT of Germany and ECOCERT of France. Every fiber of cotton used by Coyuchi is produced in accordance with IFOAM growing and processing standards. SKAL, a Netherlands-based certifier, oversees the cotton grown for Coyuchi.
Sateen is a way of weaving threads when producing fabric out of fibers. A sateen weave is achieved by allowing horizontal threads to float over vertical ones – creating a soft, smooth, and shinny surface. The organic cotton fabric is preshrunk using a steam process, resulting in a finished product which keeps its original measurement even after repeated washings. White sheets are whitened with hydrogen peroxide rather than chlorine bleach. Ivory sheets are not treated, as ivory is the natural color of organic cotton. Because ivory is 100% natural virgin fabric, we recommend this color option for people who prefer untreated fabrics.
The flat sheets have a generous 7" attached hem. The fitted sheets have deep 15" pockets and elastic all around the bottom of the sheet. Fitted sheets are available in Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal-King sizes. Flat sheets are available in Twin, Full, Queen, and King sizes. For Twin XL beds, we recommend the Twin flat sheet. For Cal-King beds, we recommend the King flat sheet.
Sheet sets are available below for your convenience in purchasing multiple items. A sheet set includes one flat sheet, one fitted sheet and two pillowcases in the appropriate matching size to the sheets.
Please note that there are several differences between pillowcases and shams. Regular and envelope-style pillowcases have an insertion opening for the pillow on the side, whereas shams have an insertion opening on the backside of the sham. Shams are intended for more decorative purposes than pillowcases. Please also note that the envelope pillowcases have a bigger flap opening than a regular pillowcase. This is because additional fabric is needed to tuck in the envelope pillowcase to enclose and protect the pillow, whereas the regular pillowcase remains open.
Please note that Sateen duvet covers and shams are available in both non-pleated and pleated styles. Pleating is a decorative element that is not available for the sateen pillowcases, flat sheets or fitted sheets. On the duvet covers and shams, the pleats only on appear the exposed side. The side of the pleated duvet cover that is in contact with you while you sleep does not have pleated details. We recommend using non-pleated pillowcases or shams for resting your head on comfortably.

Care Instructions:
These sateen sheets and bedding are machine washable. We recommend using warm water, non-phosphate soap in the washing cycle, and a cool, no/low-heat tumble or line dry. The best way to dry, in our opinion, is to hang dry your Coyuchi products on a clothesline outside, capturing and bringing the magic of the outside back in.
Wash with like items, wash whites and colors separately. For white fabrics, we suggest using non-chlorine bleach. Tumble dry low heat or line dry. The use of bleaching agents may diminish the brilliance and depth of the colors, so we recommend not using any whiteners. But if you must, please use a non-chlorine bleach.
